Resumen de Rating ELO en la lucha canaria

  Este escrito explora la posible necesidad de presentar un sistema de ranking alternativo para ser aplicado a la lucha canaria. La unidad muestral se compuso de los resultados de la primera categoría provincial de lucha canaria en Tenerife (Islas Canarias), durante el temporada 2012/13. El ranking toma forma a partir de la probabilidad de alcanzar el éxito de los rivales enfrentados, de acuerdo con el sistema elo, superando así un ranking “igualitario”.

  A partir de un análisis de la lógica de la lucha canaria y asistidos por procedimientos praxiológicos y matemáticos, contribuimos a reducir la dispersión relativa entre los equipos y alcanzar una mayor igualdad, por tanto un torneo más espectacular.

  This paper explores the possible need to present an alternative ranking system to be applied to canarian wrestling. The sample consisted of the results of the first provincial category of canarian wrestling in Tenerife (Canary Islands) during the 2012/13 season.

  The ranking is based on the probability of success of the rivals, according to the elo system, thus overcoming an “egalitarian” ranking.

  From an analysis of the logic of canarian wrestling and by applying mathematical and praxeological procedures, we help to reduce the relative divergence among the teams is made. This way, greater equality is achieved and the tournament becomes more spectacular and exciting.
