Estrés y desgaste profesional en maestros de educación superior tecnológica en Veracruz, México

    Las demandas profesionales asociadas a la labor docente dentro de los planteles de educación superior, han condicionado la presencia de estrés y desgaste emocional, psicológico y cognitivo, vinculados particularmente a la alta productividad académica. Sobre esta base se realizó una investigación que incluyó la participación de cuatro institutos tecnológicos pertenecientes al Tecnológico Nacional de México, ubicados en el estado de Veracruz. La muestra incluyó 188 maestros en activo, a los que se les aplicó un test estandarizado, conocido como MBI o Maslach Burnout Inventory, integrado por 22 ítems. Los resultados demostraron un nivel «bajo» de Burnout, condición aceptable en términos de los contextos demandantes de la educación superior tecnológica. Estos resultados permiten inferir una actitud eicaz de afrontamiento a los factores estresantes, detonadores del síndrome, o bien, que los maestros no están involucrados en la alta productividad, prestándole poca atención a las exigencias propias de su función docente.

    he professional demands associated with teaching work in the schools of higher education, have conditioned the presence of stress and emotional, psychological and cognitive wear, particularly linked to high academic productivity. On this basis an investigation that included the participation of four technological institutes belonging to the National Tecnologico of Mexico, located in the state of Veracruz has been made. he sample included 188 active teachers, who were given a standardized test, known as MBI or Maslach Burnout Inventory, consisting of 22 items. he results demonstrated a "low" level of Burnout, an acceptable condition in terms of the demanding contexts of higher technological education. hese results allow inferring an efective coping attitude to stressors, detonators of the syndrome, or that teachers are not involved in high productivity, paying little attention to the demands of their teaching function.
