Resumen de Short-Term Adverse Effects of Austerity Policies on Mortality Rates: What Could Their Real Magnitude Be?

• An editorial is presented which addresses the authors' views about the short-term adverse effects of austerity policies on mortality rates in Spain, and it mentions another articles which appears in the same issue of the journal and deals with politically and financially driven responses to economic crises. Spain's Royal Decree Law is examined, along with poverty, a lack of welfare benefits, and long-term unemployment in the country.
