  • The author calls for public health professionals and advocates to inform politicians, policymakers, and other scientists on why disease prevention cannot be achieved through a focus on genomes and biological inheritance. Citing the work of pharmacologist Wilhelm Johannsen, the author argues that societal inheritance is a bigger factor and emphasizes contextualized phenotypes over decontextualized genomes.
