  • The article discusses the World Health Organization (WHO), disease surveillance, and public health ethics in relation to social well-being as of 2017. Patterns and causes of morbidity and mortality are addressed, along with access to safe food and clean air and water. The WHO's "Guidelines on Ethical Issues in Public Health Surveillance" publication is examined, along with the impact of public health surveillance on individuals' privacy rights and civil liberties.
