  • The article discusses the representation of summoning and disappearance in the work of Chinese artist Yan Xing. Topics covered include the absent protagonist in the performance piece "Performance of a Massacre," a father's absence in the 2011 work "Daddy Project," and postures in the 2012 video piece "The History of Fugue." Also mentioned are the logic displayed in the 2013 installation work "Lenin in 1918" and depictions of shame in "the installation piece The Story of Shame."
