  • A reprint of an interview with Latvian-American artist Vija Celmins, from the July-August-September 1996 issue of "Flash Art International," is presented. Topics covered include the flatness characterizing her paintings, her depiction of primary elements such as the sky, earth and water, and her interest in making small paintings. Also mentioned are several of her works including "Untitled (Ochre)," "Two Stones" and "Blackboard Tableau #14."
