* In this paper the authors review the Vena Caval Syndrome and the surgical treatment of the Caval Syndrome in Canine Heartworm Disease through the jugular vein with the presentation of a clinic case, in which local anesthesia was employeed. This effictive therapeutic surgery of dog with acute caval syndrome is simple, requires little speciai care or hospitalization and is the better practical approach to the problem. The venotomy was in jugular uetn, under local anesthesia, and with a spiral catheter the adults toere removed This treatment only removes the adults localized into anterior and posterior vena cava and right atrium. Thus routine chemoterapy is essential as soon as ftasible after the operazion.
