Si Max Weber fue quien planteó por primera vez los términos con los que entender la condición del ser humano en la Modernidad, será justo reconocerle su mérito cuando hayamos de presentar nuestras discrepancias en otros puntos. Que circunstancialmente el mundo se haya desencantado no implica necesariamente que su consecuencia sea el nihilismo. Karl Löwith, que no dejó de admirar a Weber, plantearía el problema en unos términos que hacen que las cosas y el ser humano sigan teniendo sentido.

If Max Weber was the first to lay out the terms wich we use to understand the condition of the human being in Modernity, it will be fair to acknowledge his merit when we have to present our discrepancies in other points. That the world has circumstantially become disenchanted does not necessarily imply that its consequence is nihilism. Karl Löwith, who did not stop admiring Weber, would pose the problem in terms that make things and the human being to continue making sense.
