  • The article reports on key controversies pertaining to a joint venture between the Smithsonian Institution and Showtime Networks signed on March 9, 2006 to create Smithsonian Networks. The first project is Smithsonian on demand, a digital cable channel set to launch in December, which will produce 100 programs on Smithsonian's collections and curatorial expertise.
