In this article the authors discusses the law that prevents scientists from publishing independent research on genetically modified crops without the permission of the seed companies. They are critical of the restriction which make it impossible to verify whether or not genetically modified crops perform the way the U.S. biotechnology companies say they do. The authors explain why preventing scientists from the free inquiry of the contents that make up the U.S. food supply is dangerous.
