The article discusses how minor scientific errors can erode public support regarding climate issues. Many scientific organizations including the U.S. National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Institute for Space Studies post climate-based information that sometimes needs to be corrected or adjusted. An example is given of the U.S. National Snow and Ice Data Center (NSIDC) that published data on the Arctic ice sheet which was incorrect damaging their public-relations.
