  • The article reports a study by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regarding air traffic congestion in the U.S. According to the report, the capacity of many of the country’s largest airports will be exceeded without a major overhaul of their air traffic control systems. The desire to alleviate air traffic congestion is cited as a major goal toward the push for the construction of high-speed rail systems.
