    • The article discusses the innate ability among various species to count. Topics include an overview of two studies investigating the ability of animals to count, both published in the “Proceedings of the Royal Society B,” including one by researcher Kevin C. Burns and colleagues using robins and mealworms and one by Rosa Rugani using chicks. Also discussed is how animals conceptualize numbers including rhesus monkeys and parrots.
