  • The article discusses the origin of the mind. A fictional account of three aliens descending upon Earth to test to status of intelligent life is presented. The example is presented as an attempt to illustrate the classification of humans as a separate species based on their creative abilities. Topics include an in-depth analysis of the key ingredients that distinguish the human mind from that of other animals including generative computation, the use of mental symbols, and abstract thought.
