    • The article discussed the invention of Scotch tape which is adhesive tape containing glue. In the 1930s the use of cellophane, which is a transparent polymer, was used by packaging companies but the wrappers could not be sealed properly. Topics include an overview of how the limitations of cellophane led to the development of Scotch tape by the U.S. company 3M Company, how Scotch tape works, and what causes the electrostatic charges as the tape is unrolled.
