  • The article discusses the discovery of the blueprint by British astronomer and chemist John Herschel. Herschel noted the effect of sunlight on a sample treated with the chemical ferrocyanate potash which turned the chemical blue. Topics include a historical overview of Herschel's research searching for photosensitive chemicals, how it led to the creation of ferrocyanate of potash, and the first blue prints created by the Paris-based company Marion and Company for use in architectural plans.
