  • The article discusses the creation of an artificial organelle called the Golgi apparatus by scientists. Scientists have been able to make synthetic versions of key cellular components such as chromosomes and ribosomes, but have never synthesized a major organelle. Topics include an overview of the function of the Golgi apparatus in protein synthesis and how researcher Linhardt and colleagues created the synthetic organelle.
