  • The article discusses advances in extraction technology that will enable increasingly efficient extraction of underground oil. Topics include in-depth analyses of the amount of oil estimated to be in underground reserves, the amount of Earth's remaining reserves, which are based on a bell-shaped trajectory known as the Hubbert curve, and the improvement of petroleum exploration equipment and tools.
