Étreindre les êtres du rêve: L’oreiller comme partenaire au Japon

    In Japan, one can find sex toys disguised as inflatable mattresses, duvets and headrests. These offer users the option of sleeping with their bedding. These objects are part of a vast continuum of ersatz human bodies – organ duplicates and dolls – that are themselves often referred to as “pillows” or “cushions”. What should we make of this strategy that aims to conflate anatomy and bedding? Starting out from the hypothesis that the “pillow” function attributed to these sex toys acts as an “orgasm booster”, this article aims to analyze the way in which these different tools are linked in an interstitial space of oneiric freedom.

    Il existe au Japon des jouets sexuels déguisés en matelas gonflables, en édredons et en appuis-tête, offrant aux utilisateurs la possibilité de dormir avec leur couchage. Ces objets font partie d’un vaste continuum regroupant les ersatz de corps humains – duplicatas d’organes et poupées – qui sont eux-mêmes souvent désignés à l’aide de mots comme « oreillers » ou « coussins ». Comment comprendre cette stratégie visant à confondre anatomie et literie ? Partant de l’hypothèse que la fonction « oreiller » attribuée aux sextoys a la valeur d’un propulseur de jouissance, cet article se donne pour but d’analyser la façon dont ces différents outils sont reliés, au sein d’un interstice aménagé comme un espace de liberté onirique.
