In this paper the authors present a review on a quite recent topic: the integrated resolution of the vehicle routing problem and the vehicle/container loading problem, or, as the authors name it, the routing problem with loading constraints. In the Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem loading constraints have always existed, but just as a scalar measure, like volume or weight. In this new form of the problem we are dealing with geometric (length, width and height of each item) and other cargo related constraints, as loading order and cargo stability
