Síndrome de necrosis retiniana aguda

    Presentamos 4 pacientes (7 ojos) con el diagnóstico de síndrome de necrosis retiniana aguda, 3 afectos de SIDA y uno sano. En todos los pacientes inmunodeprimidos la afectación fue bilateral a pesar del tratamiento con Aciclovir, Ganciclovir intravítreo, Foscarnet y/o Prednisona, siendo la evolución hacia la amaurosis. El curso clínico del único ojo afecto del paciente sano fue favorable. La fotocoagulación con Láser Argón se mostró eficaz en la prevención del desprendimiento de retina.

    We present 4 patients (7 eyes) with Acute Retinal Necrosis Syndrome, 3 affected by AIDS and one otherwise healthy. In all inmunodepressed patients the affection was bilateral, in spite of treatment with Aciclovir, intravitreal Ganciclovir, Foscarnet and/or Prednisone, evolving towards total blindness. The outcome of the healthy patient affected eye was favorable. Photocoagulation with Argon Laser seemed to be useful in the. prevention of retinal detachment.
