Resumen de Estudio comparativo de Collagel y Healón en la cirugía extracapsular de la catarata

  Se estudian 32 ojos de 16 pacientes sometidos a extracción extracapsular de catarata bilateral con implante de lente intrasacular. En cada paciente, uno de los ojos recibió Healon como material viscoelástico y el ojo contralateral Collagel. En el grupo del Healon, las presiones intraoculares postoperatorias los primeros tres días fueron significativamente superiores a las observadas en los ojos con Collagel. El aumento del espesor corneal central, la transparencia de la cámara anterior y el grado de estriación corneal durante el postoperatorio fueron similares en ambos grupos. Intraoperatoriamente, el Healon mantiene mejor los espacios, mientras que el Collagel resulta más fácil de evacuar al final de la cirugia.

  We study 32 eyes of 16 patients subjected to extracapsular extraction of bilateral cataract with implantation of intrasacular lens. In each patient, one of the eyes received Healon as a viscoelastic material and the contralateral eye, received Collagel. In the Healon group, the intraocular postoperatory pressures, were significantly higher during the first three days than the ones observed in the eyes with Collagel. The increase of the central corneal thickness, the transparency of the anterior chamber and the degree of corneal striation during the postoperatory were similar in both groups. Intraoperatorily, the Healon maintains spaces better, while the Collagesis easier to egest at the end of the surgery
