El concepto común misericordia necesita de una aclaración en su significado para cristianos y musulmanes. Este artículo profundiza en el término rahma con el que el Corán sw refiere a Allah y sus posibles vínculos con la tradición cristiana, que permite un nuevo acercamiento entre Islam y cristianismo. Para ello se parte de la importancia de la teología de los nombres de Dios en la reglexión teológica islámica, en la que se descubre la relevancia de dos atributos. Ar-Rahman (el Clemente) y Ar-Rahim (El Misericordioso). Sobre el fundamento de estos nace una "nueva teología" islámica, que puede tener notables consecuencias en la configuración del islam actual y sus relaciones con el mundo occidental.

At The common concept of mercy needs a clarification in its meaning for Christians and Muslims. This article delves into the term raḥma with which the Qur'an refers to Allah and its possible links with the Christian tradition, which allows a new approach between Islam and Christianity. The text highlights the importance of the theology of the names of God in the Islamic theological reflection, in which the relevance of two attributes is discovered: Ar-Raḥmân (the Clement) and Ar-Raḥîm (the Merciful). These ground terms are the basis for a “new Islamic theology”, which can have significant consequences in the configuration of current Islam and its relations with the Western world.
