The author reflects on marriage equality laws which have been passed in several U.S. states and allow gay men to marry and on support for marriage equality which has been voiced by U.S. President Barack Obama. He suggests that health disparities which are seen among gay men may be reduced or eliminated as a result of the laws. He argues that by showing support for marriage equality President Obama has charted a course for the future which will enhance the well being of gay men.
