• The article discusses plans which have been proposed in the U.S. to introduce dental therapists, dental professionals who will perform many of the diagnostic and therapeutic services previously performed by dentists, but with less training, in an effort to improve access to dental care in the U.S. In the article the author offers his opinions on the introduction of dental therapists and the impact they will have on dental care in the U.S.
