  • The author discusses viral hepatitis in the context of the theme of the issue of promotion, prevention, and protection in public health. People infected with viral hepatitis may be asymptomatic for years until serious complications such as liver cirrhosis and other liver diseases develop. Thus, the author calls for medical screening to allow for treatment and delay in the progression of the disease.
