  • Resumen
    • The article discusses the use of pictures to convey health promotion information to Asian immigrants in the U.S. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the leading causes of death in the U.S. and it disproportionately affects minorities and immigrants. The authors describe a study using photographic images to assess Asian participants' knowledge of CVD lifestyle risk factors. By using photographs to demonstrate their knowledge of which foods and other modifiable factors help prevent CVD, the participants were able to overcome barriers in obtaining and conveying health information.
