In this article the authors discuss the use of robots or unmanned systems in military conflicts across the globe. They are critical of the systems and suggest that it is difficult to determine responsibility for situations that are caused by system errors. They argue that while rules to regulate the use of robots can be developed, the widespread use of robots would weaken the U.S. in the same way as the widespread use of chemical or biological weapons.
