    • An overview of patterns of neglect with regard to ethnic or cultural differences is presented as a rationale for looking at possibilities for change. Research with regard to how ethnic and cultural groups use space is cited as primary evidence for the need to adopt approaches in programme and design that take into account these differences.

      Citing specific instances of ethnic differences the authors suggest ways of incorporating this information in programme and building design. They also suggest ways in which classrooms can be arranged to accommodate for the differences. The discussion is centered on an approach that will incorporate a process in educational and architectural planning.
