  • In this article the authors discuss aspects of giving farm animals low-dose antibiotics. They note that microbiologists warned U.S. farmers against the use of antibiotics to fatten up farm animals, noting the threat to human health the practice would cause as a result of producing drug-resistant bacteria. Topics include the ways veterinary antibiotics are used in agriculture and why the U.S. should follow Denmark's lead and stop giving animals low-dose antibiotics.
