  • The article discusses waste recovery research. According to the author, much of the energy generated in the U.S. is lost as heat from millions of vehicles and power plants. An overview of research by scientists at U.S. automaker General Motors Corp. in Warren, Michigan, who are trying to capture wasted energy using shape-memory alloys is presented.
