The article looks at the use of chimpanzees in U.S. biomedical research, arguing that invasive research conducted on chimps should be stopped or stricter guidelines should be made. The Animal Welfare Act, the Great Ape Protection and Cost Savings Act, and research by the Institute of Medicine (IOM) are discussed.
