Resumen de Safety first, fracking second.

  • An opinion piece which looks at the safety concerns associated with hydraulically fracturing, or fracking, shale for natural gas is presented. The authors discuss a report by Duke University which found that drinking water supplies near fracking sites have unusually high levels of methane and argue that it is necessary for U.S. state and federal government agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) must develop standards and safety measures.
