  • The article discusses Scientology, looking at the effectiveness of dianetics, Scientology as a religion, and origin myths. The author examines books on Scientology's doctrines including "The Church of Scientology" by High B. Urban and "Inside Scientology" by Janet Reitman, the origin myth of Xenu, and an interview with author Harlan Ellison, who says that he was present when religion founder L. Ron Hubbard created the origin myth.
