Resumen de Sacred salubriousness.

Michael Shermer

  • In this article the author discusses aspects of research on self-control that explains the link between religion and health. He cites a meta-anaylsis by psychologist Michael E. McCullough of the University of Miami, Florida that revealed religious people are less likely to engage in unhealthy behaviors, such as smoking, and more likely to engage in healthy behaviors, such as visiting a dentist. A brief review of the book "Willpower," by Roy Baumeister and John Tierney is also presented.
