• A golden phial with an inscription etched in Greek: the phial comes from clandestine excavations in Caltavuturo (Palermo); exported to the United States it has been judged to be Italian property and assigned to the Museum of Himera. The fact that it is decorated with spirals palms, beech fruit, acorns, bees, not to mention the literary and epigraphic elements, means that it bears comparison with other objects and is therefore regarded as relevant. The inscription records the name of the dedicant probably completed by the patronimic; the weight is also recorded. This is marked with a pseudo ancestral acrophonic system which means it can safely be regarded as a phial from the Sicelioto region from between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC.
