Mario Di Giampaolo: "in memoriam".
The present article pays tribute to Mario Di Giampaolo (1941-2008), a highly refined connoisseur of important schools of Italian drawing, above all from the Veneto, Lombard and Emilian areas, and one with a particular interest in the Parma artists Correggio and Parmigianino. It underlines the international scope of his research as well as his acquaintances with scholars of the calibre of A.E. Popham, Ph. Pouncey and S. Beguin. Some of the most significant acquisitions are listed and various drawings from the Gabinetto Disegni e Stampe degli Uffizi identified by Di Giampaolo are reproduced.
