When it comes to storytelling, video games have generally been pretty awful, emphasizing action at the expense of narrative. But that's changing. Writers are turning to games as their medium of choice, and a handful of forthcoming games have writing itself as their objective. People love to create, says Ichiro Lambe, founder of game studio Dejobaan in Boston MA. Lambe is one of the designers of the recently announced Elegy for a Dead World, set in a ruined world inspired by poems such as Shelley's Ozymandias. With few clues as to what has gone before, players must write a tale based on their experience, which can then be shared online
