  • The article discusses how the human impetus to surpass evolutionary limits through the development of tools distinguishes people from other animals. Topics include how humans evolved in small nomadic groups in the savanna, how different primate species practice sexual and social monogamy, and how humans have an area of the cortex which specializes in facial recognition. Additional information is presented on the achievements of science and how humans use technology and research to increase intellectual and physical capacities.
