  • Resumen
    • The author describes a television special for news program "Dateline NBC" which replicated psychology experiments such as Stanley Milgram's shock experiment, in which subjects' empathy and obedience are tested by being asked to deliver electric shocks to a stranger. It is suggested that conflicting moralities caused the participants to feel emotions such as fear of authority and pity for the actor being shocked, and demonstrated the principle of diffusion of responsibility.
