  • The article reports that Asian needle ants are displacing other ant species and harm ecosystems in the U.S. and elsewhere. Topics include how the invasive ants eat other ant species but rarely take up the helpful tasks other ants perform like tilling the soil and planting seeds; the needle ants' ability to adapt to temperate climates; and how the Asian needle ants compare to another invasive ant species, the Argentine ant.
