  • In this article the author explores how data can help clarify the gun-control debate. Topics include statistics from a 1998 study in the "Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery" regarding the number of individuals unintentionally killed when a gun was used in self-defense or a legally justifiable shooting, the book "Reducing Gun Violence in America: Informing Policy With Evidence and Analysis," edited by Daniel W. Webster and Jon S. Vernick, and myths about gun control laws.
