El Filebo, diálogo sumamente complicado, con el subtítulo “Sobre el placer”, trata, entre otros asuntos, el tema poco común de los placeres “verdaderos”y “falsos”. En otras palabras, se plantea la cuestión de la verdad y de la falsedad de sentimientos y emociones, problema que es evidentemente falso. Sin embargo, Platón insiste en ello y en el curso de la obra se verá que los predicados “verdadero” y “falso” se aplican en un sentido no común a los placeres. El hecho de que Platón insista en la verdad y la falsedad de los placeres, se debe a que combate el hedonismo y toda ética subjetivista.

The Philebus is a very complicated dialogue, with the subtitle “About Pleasure”. Among other topics, the text is about true and false pleasures;
in other words, there arises the problem of truth and falsehood of emotions and feelings, which is obviously false. Nevertheless, Plato insists on this point, and in the course of the work, the reader will notice that the predicates “true” and “false” are treated in a no common way. The reason of the insistence on true and false pleasures is Plato’s opposition to hedonism and all types of subjective ethics.
