The authors reflect on the public health crisis of earthquake-related disabilities in Nepal following massive earthquakes that struck on April 25 and May 15, 2015 and present five recommendations for humanitarian interventions following disasters. They suggest supporting early interventions to reduce long-term disability, developing funding mechanisms for long-term support of people with disabilities caused by earthquakes, and streamlining processes for post-earthquake disability support.
