Resumen de Race and Genomics in the Veterans Health Administration.

Julia Lynch, Angela Whatley, Uchenna S. Uchend, Said A. Ibrahim

  • The authors reflect on race and genomics in the U.S. Veterans Health Administration (VHA). They suggest that the clinical implementation of genomic medicine in the U.S. is gaining momentum and that genetic testing is becoming rapidly incorporated into clinical practice and the VHA. They argue that while there are many barriers to genomic medicine for minorities, the VHA is ahead of many hospitals in developing processes to promote equity in genomic medicine and participating in equity research.
