    Статья посвящена анализу личности Родиона Раскольникова с точки зрения современной психиатрии. Федор Михайлович Достоевский в своем письме издателю указывал на психологическую основу своего произведения. Именно это указание побудило посмотреть на жизнь, мысли, поведение Раскольникова с профессиональной точки зрения врача-психиатра. Попытаться найти причины преступления отличные от общепринятого понимания и доказать болезненность идей и поступков главного героя романа.

    This article deals with the analysis of Raskolnikov’s personality through the lens of the current psychiatry. Dostoevsky Fyodor Mikhailovich suggested psychological basis of his work when wrote a letter to the publisher.This particular suggestion motivated me to analyze Raskolnikov’s life, thoughts and behavior as a professional psychiatrist. I’ve tried to find causes of the crime that different to the typical understanding and to prove that ideasand actions of the novel’s central character were abnormal.
