Este artículo estudia cómo la diplomacia y la prensa franquista siguieron la política argentina entre 1962 y 1966. Se aborda el turbulento interregno de José María Guido y el gobierno de Arturo Illia, del radicalismo del Pueblo. El peronismo, su legado y su vigencia política, fue objeto de particular atención tanto del ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores español como de sus medios informativos. Los falangistas destacaron por su filo-peronismo. De la “querida república hermana” preocupaba su crisis política, el desprestigio de sus fuerzas armadas, el crecimiento de la izquierda, el escaso arraigo electoral de la derecha y el temor al desvio marxista del peronismo. El exilio del polémico ex presidente Juan Domingo Perón en España, si bien generó discrepancias con las autoridades argentinas, al final no fue un impedimento para que las relaciones hispano-argentinas continuarán incrementándose.

This article focuses on how the Francoist diplomacy and its press kept track of Argentinean politics between 1962 and 1966. It also looks at the turbulent interregnum of José María Guido and the government of Arturo Illia, from the People’s radicalism. Peronism, its legacy and its political effect, was target of special attention not only to the Spanish ministry of Foreign Affairs, but also to its information services. Falangists stood out for their pro-Peronism position. They were worried about their “Dear republic sister”, its political crisis, the smear of its armed forces, the growth of the political left, the electoral weak foothold of the political right, and the fear for the Marxist deviation of Peronism. Even though it generated discrepancies with Argentinean authorities, the exile of the polemical ex President Juan Domingo Perón in Spain, finally did not mean an obstacle to the increasing development of the Spanish-Argentinean relations
