  • The article discusses the Primary Documents publication series from the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. Particular focus is given to how the series, started in 2002, anthologizes English translations of art criticism, artists' writings, and other literary or documentary material from regions not well enough studied in the West. Additional topics discussed include the history of modernism outside of the West, the problematic nature of translation and the 1992 book "The End of History and the Last Man," by Francis Fukuyama.
