  • Geddes talks about the exact circuits that allow the nervous system to intervene when things go wrong in the body. Autoimmune diseases, asthma, diabetes and gastric conditions are just a few of the disorders that appear amenable to electrical intervention. The idea that electrical signals can control the immune system will sound bizarre to anyone who has studied biology. After all, electricity is the language of the nervous system, not the immune system.
